आधुनिक युगातील प्रगतीशील मराठी लेखक कवी, कथाकार, कादंबरीकार, समीक्षक, संतसाहित्याचे अभ्यासक आणि लेखक , WRITER AND CRITIC Dr. Kishor Sanap’s name is significant enough to be noted in bold letters among his contemporaries in the field of belles lettress and thoughtful writing.Saint Tukaram was a great, epoch making saint in the first half of the seventeenth century. He was a visionary. Saint tradition and philosophy of a millenium was before him. Tukaram was a social reformer, religion reformer, great poet, saint, philosopher, thinker, rationalist, environmentalist and progressive hero of the most backward classes. In the begining of the twenty first century, it is necessary to look at Saint Tukaram’s personality through scientific perspective. I am glad to see that new generation is knowingly and sincerely studying saint literature. In the movement of saint literature Tukaram’s work is great. In this book one can see an appropriate co-ordination between religious and social work of Tukaram during his time. In a long introduction of this book, a reflection of social and religious aspects of a thousand years of saint literature is found. The authors have made an accurate presentation of Tukaram’s literary and social work. Meanings of Tukaram’s selected abhangas and lucid style make the reader introvert. The authors’ attempt to understand Tukaram’s personality and poetics is praise worthy. Struggling all his life against orthodox Brahmins’ vanity and hypocricy, he called a rebel. An ordinary farmer, Warkari, became religious and spiritual teacher of Maharashtra. Telling the people the gist of living, he inculcated in the society the religious conduct that one must touch feet of those who behave as they speak. In only 48 years, Sant Tukaram reformed religion, society and became Jagatguru by composing epic. In this book all the above aspects of Tukoba’s character are presented. Bhuvaikuntha (2008) Bhuvaikuntha is a story of a warkari woman who is not frustrated despite several calamities in life.
